Axpona Anecdote

It seems AXPONA weather always exemplifies spring in the Midwest and this year was no exception.  The last days leading up to the show, and the Friday and Saturday of the show were a lovely lamb in a bikini, while the load out Sunday and drive home Monday were an angry lion in a down coat and boots.  It mattered little as we were euphoric from our experience this past weekend at AXPONA 2023.

Our two-room setup, with a sliding door between, gave us the opportunity both to alternate systems and have a conversation area that separated from the demonstration space, which, probably 90% of the time was the larger system.  The rooms were at SRO status almost the entire time from opening at 10:00 AM Friday to “last tune” at 4:00 Sunday, and we were delighted with the sound we achieved in both spaces.  Attendees appeared to agree, as did our industry partners.

We would like to thank the many of you, our customers, who showed up and shared the wonderful show scene with us, for your enthusiasm in our rooms.  It was great to see you and you being there helped sustain us through long day after long day.  Also, we couldn’t have done it without our friends in the hi-fi business who gave hours and effort to the cause and helped keep the room running smoothly.  Notable are Richard Vandersteen (Vandersteen Audio), Garth Powell and Rick Blair (AudioQuest), Brad “Pretty Boy” O’Toole (Sound Vibes representing Vandersteen Audio and Harmonic Resolution Systems), and Mike and Sylvia Fajen (Sierra Sound, importers of AMG).  Your contributions were invaluable and mightily appreciated.

We have already re-upped for an identical rerun next year.  Same room, same people.  Are we crazy?  I don’t think so.  Join us next year to see for yourself.

Below are some photos and the equipment lists at this link for the two rooms:
